The Liberal Cup Featured Artist of the Month:
Garrett Soucy/ Sunday July 6th 5pm to 8pm

We're excited to welcome Garrett Soucy for his first appearance at the Liberal Cup. One of the main songwriters behind the renowned Maine based band Tree by Leaf, Soucy can also be classified as the driving force behind the band. Tree by Leaf's music features a unique indie folk sound that is both inviting and intellectually challenging. The band has some five releases now and Garrett has also ventured out on his own with 2003's Out a Room Through a Window.

The Boston Phoenix classifies Soucy as one of the best lyricist working today. The music is primarily crafted from a few basic ingredients: sex, religion, and murder, with an occasional inclusion of humor and self-admitted ignorance. Soucy positions the music as best listened to with cigarettes and tea. Tree by Leaf and Soucy have received a great deal of critical acclaim in the New England press, but don't just take their word for it, come down on the 6th and find out for yourself.
